Max Margulis is an accomplished financial services professional with more than 11 years of industry experience specializing in insurance strategy, case design, and comprehensive financial planning. Since joining Fortis Lux Financial in 2017, Max has been instrumental in developing sophisticated insurance solutions that help advisors address the complex financial planning needs of their clients.
In 2018, Max was appointed Director of the Case Design Team, where he assumed responsibility for creating and enhancing insurance-based planning strategies across a broad range of product lines. Throughout his tenure, he has designed and implemented Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Long-Term Care, and Annuity solutions utilizing products from more than 25 leading insurance carriers. His expertise and collaborative approach have made him a valued resource for advisors seeking customized solutions for wealth preservation, risk management, estate planning, and retirement income planning.
From 2023 to 2026, Max served as Director of the Fortis Lux Financial Planning Unit, leading the firm's financial planning initiatives and helping advisors integrate comprehensive planning strategies into their client relationships. In this role, he worked closely with advisors to develop holistic financial plans that aligned insurance, investment, retirement, and legacy planning objectives.
Max has developed particular expertise within MassMutual’s product suite and has been instrumental in driving significant production through his department. Over the past two years, the case design team under his leadership has facilitated the placement of more than $10 million in life insurance premiums, reflecting both the effectiveness of the solutions developed and the confidence advisors place in his guidance.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Max lives in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, with his wife, daughter, and dog. In his spare time, he enjoys watching hockey and football, and he is an avid drummer. His passion for teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement is reflected both in his professional career and his personal pursuits.
